Family Christmas Advent Activity Cards
These Family Christmas Advent Activity Cards are a perfect way to spend quality time with your family during the holidays.
Christmas is such an exciting time! There are so many opportunities to make life-long memories of time spent together with your family. If the Christmas season wasn’t exciting enough, there comes another level of excitement in counting down the days, so on each day there is something new and fun to look forward to. Enter Advent Calendars! I never experienced Advent Calendars growing up, but I wish I had. I also wish I had given my two oldest kids this experience but since I didn’t grow up with them, I never really game them much fault. After my husband and I had our daughter and she got a little older, we started the tradition of giving her an Advent Calendar each December 1st. From the first year we gave her one, she came to look forward to and expect one each year. We also look forward to picking out a new themes each year, mostly depending on her interests at that time. She is 16 now so it’s getting harder and harder to find the perfect Advent Calendar for her. But no matter what your kids ages are, this set of 25 Christmas Advent Activity Cards are sure to fill each day with something everyone will remember and treasure!
The cards range from things to do to things to make, things to watch and things to bake. The cards are numbered from 1 – 25 so there is an activity each day from December 1 – December 25. It even includes 3 blank cards so you can make your own in whatever color border you like best.
The cards work best if printed on 8.5 x 11 cardstock paper. If you have any single-sided Christmas patterned paper, you can print on the plain side and give these cards an extra festive look. After printing, simply cut them out. You may laminate them prior to cutting if you wish to extend the life of them.
Ways to use the Christmas Advent Activity Cards
1. Use as an advent calendar
Put the cards in order from 1 – 25, with card 1 on the bottom. Look through the cards, as some of the activities will require special materials, ingredients or scheduling so you may want to go through them and make notes in your calendar of which days need special things. Turn the cards face-down and place them in a special place. Each morning allow your child (or family members can take turns) to turn the top card over to reveal that day’s activity. Decide on a time the activity will take place.
2. Take Photos and create a scrapbook or holiday album
Try to capture each activity on camera and create a digital or physical scrapbook or holiday photo album. Make note of the date and the activity.
3. Turn into a gift
Print a second copy of the cards and cut them out. Tie them together with pretty ribbon and present in a cute gift back and give to a friend to make memories with their own loved ones.
